UNDERWORLD - BECKINSALE MISSED OUT ON THE RING BECAUSE SHE WASN'T 'MUMSY' ENOUGH

UNDERWORLD star KATE BECKINSALE was originally set to star in blockbuster horror film THE RING, but missed out on the part when film-makers decided she didn't look like a mother.

The British actress, who has a six-year-old daughter, LILY, with her ex MICHAEL SHEEN, ended up losing the part to KING KONG star NAOMI WATTS.

She recalls, "They asked me to do The Ring then took it back, saying I didn't look like a mother with a child when, of course, I am a mother with a child and Naomi Watts isn't."
