DAVID BECKHAM - BECKHAM SNUBBED BY THE SIMPSONS

English soccer hunk DAVID BECKHAM's cameo role on TV cartoon THE SIMPSONS has been axed - because he is not famous enough.

Creators of the comedy animation were planning to approach the husband of former SPICE GIRL VICTORIA BECKHAM to see if he would agree to be written into the cartoon.

But, according to executive producer AL JEAN, Beckham is barely known to audiences in America, where the series is made.

Jean says, "We thought about Becks but soccer isn't as big over there. He's not really famous enough.

"We thought about it, we didn't ask. I've heard of him because my daughter plays soccer."
