DAVID BECKHAM - BECKHAM 'FURIOUS ELTON AND HURLEY ARE BROOKLYN'S GODPARENTS'

Soccer ace DAVID BECKHAM is allegedly furious his wife VICTORIA has chosen rock superstar SIR ELTON JOHN and actress ELIZABETH HURLEY as their son BROOKLYN's godparents instead of members of his family.

Ex-SPICE GIRL, Victoria has picked her brother CHRISTIAN and sister LOUISE as their other child ROMEO's godparents, while the ROCKET MAN and Hurley will play an active role in Brooklyn's baptism tomorrow (23DEC04).

But the ENGLAND Captain is devastated his relations have no official role in their sons' lives, reports Britains STAR magazine.

An insider says, "You have to ask yourself why Elton and Elizabeth have been asked to be godparents when David's own flesh and blood have been excluded.

"The Beckhams had the same treatment as total strangers, with a formal invitation coming through the post without even a personal note on it."

But David's father TED counters, "There isn't any rift. I'll be going to the christening. I don't mind if I'm not a godparent. It doesn't bother me if they want Elton John or Elizabeth Hurley."
