BECK has urged record companies to release albums as soon as they've been recorded - echoing comments OASIS rocker NOEL GALLAGHER made last week (ends20MAY05).

Beck's latest album GUERO was released in late March (05), months after it was completed last summer (04).

And the Californian singer is envious of his pal JACK WHITE, who played bass on Guero track GO IT ALONE, as the WHITE STRIPES rocker's music is speedily unveiled to the public.

Beck says, "I love the fact that The White Stripes recorded their (forthcoming GET BEHIND ME A SATAN) album in a week and a half, and Jack White's saying, 'The single (BLUE ORCHID) is coming out next week.'

"That's old school rock 'n' roll - where they would cut the record at Sun Studios and then take it down to the DJ that night."

Speaking last week, Noel Gallagher said, "You give them an album, and six months later you're still waiting for it to come out. When it's finished, get it out as soon as possible. Put it in the f**king shops within the week. It can be done that way."
