British funnyman ROWAN ATKINSON plans to kill off his eccentric alter-ego MR BEAN after he's finished work on the sequel to 1997 feature film BEAN.

The comic, who launched the wacky character on British television in 1990, is currently penning the script with LOVE ACTUALLY writer RICHARD CURTIS and intends to make Mr Bean's final outing his biggest adventure yet.

Atkinson says, "It will be Mr Bean's last gasp. Richard and I are developing the film script for MR BEAN 2 which we will shoot in Europe rather than America. A country where Bean doesn't understand the language."
