Hit series BAYWATCH has been dealt a major blow amid plans to resurrect the lifeguard drama on the big screen - a British survey has crowned it the worst-ever American TV import.
The sun-drenched show - starring DAVID HASSELHOFF and a host of scantily-clad beauties like PAMELA ANDERSON and CARMEN ELECTRA - enjoyed a 12-year lifespan from 1989 to 2001 and was once ranked the world's most watched TV programme.
However, TV industry magazine BROADCAST singled out Baywatch for its scripts "of mind-numbing predictability: beachgoer is saved from drowning", and awarded it the number one spot in its top 20 poll.
Second place went to THE ANNA NICOLE SHOW - a reality show focusing on the former PLAYBOY model's daily life - while seventies hit THE DUKES OF HAZZARD crash landed at number three.
