A British-based American businessman has been charged with defrauding investors by claiming his company had links with TV show BAYWATCH.
DAVID WILLIAM PORT, 49, allegedly swindled US and English investors out of almost $360,000 (GBP240,000) between 1998 to 2000 after convincing them his firm, PCG MEDIA, had worldwide syndication rights to the lifeguard show.
He also told investors former Baywatch star DAVID HASSELHOFF was supporting the firm financially and that PCG planned to take over the PLANET HOLLYWOOD franchise and open theme restaurants based on Baywatch.
