BRIGITTE BARDOT STORIES
Veteran French actress BRIGITTE BARDOT has been honoured by having a baby Thai elephant named after her - in recognition of the years she's spent campaigning for animal rights.
The AND GOD CREATED WOMAN star has worked tirelessly to protect animals and donated a large sum of money to the elephant hospital where the infant was born in June (03).
A spokesperson says, "She transferred money to us in June and August totalling $70,000 (GBP45,750) for food and medicine for five elephants that sustained injuries from stepping on landmines."
