PETE DOHERTY - BARAT FEARS FOR DOHERTY AFTER 'HEROIN PHOTOS'

British singer CARL BARAT fears for his former bandmate PETE DOHERTY after pictures of the BABYSHAMBLES frontman purportedly injecting an unconscious fan with heroin were published by a British newspaper on Friday (28APR06). Barat and Doherty found fame together in THE LIBERTINES, but parted ways when Doherty's drug use began to interfere with the group's music. And Barat, who entered the UK singles chart at number five yesterday (30APR06) with the debut disc from new band DIRTY PRETTY THINGS, says, "It's a bad situation. It's a lot to take in. It's a sad situation."
