An elderly relative of CHRISTIAN BALE was so repulsed by the actor's latest movie MACHINIST, she begged him not to show the film to anyone.
The AMERICAN PSYCHO star's role as a starved insomniac has thrilled critics, but his wife SIBI's aged grandmother was far from impressed with the actor's super thin frame in the film when he staged a family screening.
Bale says, "I showed it to my wife's grandmother, who is a great Yugoslavian character who doesn't speak much English.
"I don't think she quite comprehended that it was a movie that was going to be released in theatres, because she saw it and said, 'Turn this off. You must never show this video to anyone. Ideally, throw it away. But please promise me that no one else will ever see it.'"
