Legendary actress LAUREN BACALL resents the abundance of modern technology in today's world because it destroys the human element in life. The DOGVILLE star insists people are losing touch with their emotions because they no longer communicate without using email or mobile phones. The 81-year-old says, "...this technological world. It's a bit of a nightmare if you ask me, and I think the human element has disappeared to quite a degree. "The word 'email' drives me mad. I'm learning to do it but I don't think it should take over your life. I want to speak to a human being. "People are losing touch with their feelings and emotions, and that's what my whole profession is based on. I don't want to lose that. "And I don't want to lose contact with people, even the ones I don't like."
