TOTO - ARQUETTE'S NAME IS WRONG IN SONG

NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY

TOTO's hit track ROSANNA was written for actress ROSANNA ARQUETTE, but her name is mis-pronounced in the song. THE BIG BLUE star's name is pronounced "Ro-sahn-na", not "Rose-anna". Arquette was dating Toto keyboardist and composer STEVE PORCARO, but the song was actually written by bandmember DAVID PAICH. She explains, "It probably sounds better in a song to sing it that way. "A lot of people call me, Rosanna, but my mother calls me Ro-sahn-na." The song won a Grammy Award for Record Of The Year in 1982.
