Cycling champion LANCE ARMSTRONG found coping with the news his ex-fiancee SHERYL CROW had cancer as difficult as coming to terms with his own cancer diagnosis. Armstrong split from Crow, who has now recovered from breast cancer surgery, just weeks before her diagnosis in February (06). And the 34-year-old, who himself was successfully treated for testicular cancer, struggled to accept Crow's bad news. Armstrong says, "They caught it really early, that was a great thing, and the course of radiation went well. "It's just odd timing - break-ups are never easy, and then something like that three weeks later was tough. "In many ways it was as hard as my diagnosis, it was hard to deal with." He adds, "She's doing good. She's done with therapy, she says she's doing great."
