GEORGE CLOONEY - ARE CELEBRITIES PAID AT FASHION SHOWS?

Fashion houses are paying celebrities including GEORGE CLOONEY and BEYONCE KNOWLES a fortune just to appear at top events, according to gossip website PAGE SIX.

The CRAZY IN LOVE singer and CRIS JUDD, ex-hubby of JENNIFER LOPEZ, are both thought to have earnt up to $25,000 (GBP15,000) to attend last weekend's (13/14SEP03) Bryant Park show in New York, with such celebrity earnings a reportedly common occurrence.

ID MODELS boss PAOLO ZAMPOLLI says, "It happens all the time in Milan. It is quite common.

"Last year, we negotiated between $50,000 (GBP30,000) and $100,000 (GBP60,000) for CHARLIE CHAPLIN's granddaughter KIERA CHAPLIN to sit at some shows."

An insider says, "The contract to get RICKY MARTIN to sit at front row at the GIORGIO ARMANI show two years ago was 23 pages long.

"And notice George Clooney comes to shows in Milan every year. And it's not because he likes clothes so much."
