KANGAROO JACK star ANTHONY ANDERSON's dad was so angry when his son dropped out of university, he made him pay for his laundry and phone calls when he moved back home.
The American funnyman has now decided to relive his struggling days by starring in the soon-to-debut sitcom ALL ABOUT THE ANDERSONS, about an out-of-work actor who shows up on his parents' doorstep in Compton, California, with a six-year-old son in tow after not being able to make it in New York City.
He says, "That's what happened to me, except without the kid. I won a scholarship to HOWARD UNIVERSITY in Washington, DC. But after three years, my money ran out, and I had to come home to regroup, and boy did my dad make it hard for me to stay at home.
"My father put in a paid washer and dryer I had to use in the basement. He even put a pay telephone in a family room and made me use that.
"But it was all for the good, because now I have a show where we can relive all that stuff and laugh about it."
