Actress JENNIFER ANISTON took on a rare dramatic role in THE GOOD GIRL because she was scared of"fading away and washing up" once hit sitcom FRIENDS came to an end.
Aniston, better known for her comedy roles, was concerned if she didn't experiment, she'd end up on the Hollywood scrapheap.
She says, "I think this allowed me a little more time. I just wanted to be around for a while. I just don't want to fade away and wash up - because I didn't take chances, you know. I wanted to know.
"I was getting very comfortable in my comedy mode, and I wanted to scare myself a little bit. And that was good because I didn't know if I could pull it off.
"I thought I would be a laughing-stock. And one of my greatest fears is being laughed at."
Aniston's fears failed to materialise - she won critical acclaim for her efforts in the film, which also starred JAKE GYLLENHAAL.
