Movie beauty JENNIFER ANISTON is perplexed by co-star JIM CARREY's kind comments about her - because she was terrified by his acting skills.

The rubber-faced funnyman takes the title role in BRUCE ALMIGHTY, in which Aniston plays his love interest. And the ACE VENTURA star described BRAD PITT's wife as a calming influence on set.

But she responds, "Cool, calm and anchoring him? That was absolute fear he was seeing. I was thinking, 'What am I doing here and how am I going to match up and volley with someone like Jim Carrey?' I just watched the master at work.
