Actresses JENNIFER ANISTON and FRANCES McDORMAND are in talks to star in a movie version of recently-rediscovered British comic novel MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY.
Written by WINIFRED WATSON, the book was first published in 1938, and follows governess Miss Pettigrew as she experiences a more exciting life when she is sent to work in the home of nightclub performer MISS LA FOSSE. As a part of her duties Miss Pettigrew finds herself sorting out her new employer's eyebrow-raising affairs.
According to Hollywood trade publication DAILY VARIETY, FRIENDS star Aniston is one of many high-profile actresses hoping to land the role of Miss La Fosse.
The book, set in 1930s London, enjoyed a renewed burst of popularity in 2000 when it was reissued by Britain's PERSEPHONE BOOKS.
