PAMELA ANDERSON - ANDERSON IN COCKFIGHTING PLEA

Animal activist PAMELA ANDERSON is calling on New Mexico's governor to ban cockfighting in the American state.

The former BAYWATCH beauty is pleading with Governor BILL RICHARDSON to outlaw the cruel game, in which "two roosters are armed with razor-sharp knives and prompted to stab each other until one is dead".

Anderson's campaign comes after former UNITED NATIONS (UN) ambassador Richardson referred to cockfighting as an issue "below my radar". However, the majority of the voters in his state are urging him to ban it.

In a statement aimed at Richardson, the busty actress says, "Please take a leadership position and guide the law through the legislature in 2005. The whole country is watching, especially Hollywood, which your office actively courts for the film business."
