R+B star AMERIE is struggling to find romance because men are only interested in her exotic background.

The half Korean-half black singer urges potential suitors to stick to traditional chat-up lines because she hates to think men are only interested in what their children might look like if they sire a child with Amerie.

She says, "It's weird when guys rush you and approach and say, 'So what are you, like, Filipino?' I'm like, 'You seem more interested to know what my background is than what do I like to do? How often do I come here? What my name is?'

"That kinda turns me off because I think it's really shallow."
