AMERICAN IDOL - AMERICAN IDOL CONQUERS ALL

America's TV phenomenon AMERICAN IDOL is topping every chart this week (beg21APR03).

The talent show remains the top show in America, but now it's scoring big hits on the pop charts as well.

The show's co-host RYAN SEACREST announced during last night's (22APR03) programme that early figures placed the American Idol charity single - a new version of LEE GREENWOOD's patriotic anthem GOD BLESS AMERICA - on top of the singles chart.

Meanwhile last year's (02) American Idol winner KELLY CLARKSON's debut album, THANKFUL, has toppled GODSMACK at the top of the LP charts.
