AMELIE star MATHIEU KASSOVITZ has been given a big break in America - he'll direct new futuristic thriller BABYLON AD from his own script.
Set in the near future, the story surrounds a woman who is manipulated by a synthetic virus which could destroy the human race.
Meanwhile, the busy European will return from retirement as an actor later this summer (05) to star in a new project about the aftermath of the Munich Olympics, which will be directed by STEVEN SPIELBERG.
He says, "I became an actor mainly to learn how to deal with directors. I stopped when I figured that out and said that the only man who would change my mind was Steven."
