French duo AIR surprised fans at their HOLLYWOOD BOWL show in Los Angeles on Sunday night (26SEP04), by going classical.
The duo, NICOLAS GODIN and JEAN-BENOIT DUNCKEL, were joined by conductor ROGER NEILL and a full orchestra for their Bowl show.
Air had just 90 minutes to rehearse with the orchestra before the Hollywood show, where they were also joined onstage by BECK.
An impressed Neill told reporters after the show, "People often try to put orchestra and rock together, but they usually end up bringing out the worst elements, and it winds up sounding very vulgar.
"With Air, their sound is already there. It's so rich and organic that when people even hear that they're performing with an orchestra, they already know it makes perfect sense."
