A London-based ticket agency has been fined $7,650 (GBP4,250) for selling tickets to see veteran British singer CLIFF RICHARD at a hugely inflated price.

Devoted fan SONIA SWIERZBINSKI bought two tickets to the LIVING DOLL legend's ROYAL ALBERT HALL concert last April (04), at a cost of $495 (GBP275) each, but got a bill for $581 (GBP323) per ticket because company GETMETICKETS.COM had failed to include VAT in the price.

Furious Swierzbinski was one of a host of fans who complained about the agency and Britain's TRADING STANDARDS watchdog stepped in to impose the heavy fine.

They said Getmetickets.com had failed their customers by neglecting to show the full price of the tickets, including the VAT. They were also criticised for not advertising the face value of each ticket, which in the case of Cliff Richard was a mere $72 (GBP40).
