JUNEBUG - ADAMS TOOK TALLADEGA NIGHTS FOR AWARD

NEWS BY ARTIST ALPHABETICALLY

JUNEBUG star AMY ADAMS accepted her role in new sporting comedy TALLADEGA NIGHTS: THE BALLAD OF RICKY BOBBY, because she is convinced the film will win awards. Despite winning several awards for her Junebug role, the CATCH ME IF YOU CAN actress was disappointed not to be acknowledged by the Golden Globes, and feels confident her new character will be worthy of a nomination. She tells British magazine Empire, "If that's not Oscar bait, I don't know what is! That's why I took it of course. "I thought, 'You know maybe this'll get me the Golden Globe nom I missed out on.'" Adams took home Best Supporting Actress trophies from the National Society of Film Critics and the Independent Spirit Awards, as well as the Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize for her portrayal of heavily pregnant ASHLEY in Junebug.
