AMERICAN PIE - ACCENT HELL FOR ALYSON HANNIGAN

AMERICAN PIE star ALYSON HANNIGAN always embarrasses fiance ALEXIS DENISOF when he takes her to Britain - because she can't avoid adopting a terrible accent.

The actress, who met and fell in love with Denisof on the set of TV hit BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, admits she sympathises with MADONNA - because the English accent is addictive to Americans.

She says, "I just love England but I'm probably not allowed back in the country now.

"Alexis grew up there and most of his friends are there and he goes back into the accent. I've always given him a hard time about that but I did it this time round and I sounded like DICK VAN DYKE from MARY POPPINS and I couldn't stop myself.

"Anytime I talk to English people it just comes out and it's awful. I totally understand Madonna and her new accent. It's contagious."
