ABBA - ABBA MUSICAL TO HIT THE BIG SCREEN

The hit ABBA musical MAMMA MIA is set to be made into a film produced by Oscar winner TOM HANKS. Hollywood publication Daily Variety reports Abba songwriters BJORN ULVAEUS and BENNY ANDERSON will work alongside Hanks to bring the stage show, which made its debut on the London stage almost a decade ago, to cinemas by the end of the year (06). Mamma Mia, which features many of the Swedish band's hits including DANCING QUEEN and THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL, has grossed more than $1.6 billion (GBP900 million) around the world.
