OPRAH WINFREY was nervous about asking HALLE BERRY to star in her TV movie THEIR EYES WERE WATCHING GOD because she felt intimidated by the MONSTER'S BALL star's OSCAR win.
The iconic US chat show host was already friends with Berry, but she thought the actress's crowning as Best Actress at 2002's ACADEMY AWARDS would change her priorities - but her fears were proved unfounded.
Winfrey says, "I don't know what happens to you once you win an Academy Award. I didn't know whether she was going to be, like, 'Now I have an Oscar. I'm sorry. I cannot talk to you.'"
