AARON SORKIN - WEST WING CREATOR TO LEAVE

AARON SORKIN - the creator of the WEST WING - is leaving the show when the latest series comes to an end.

Sorkin, who was involved in writing most of the scripts for the NBC series, was also executive producer.

There had been reports of tension between Sorkin and the studio that produces the show, WARNER BROS TELEVISION. He was reportedly warned about budgets and production delays.

However he says, "This has been the experience of any writer's dreams. I had the best job in showbusiness for four years and I'll never forget that."
