THE JAM - WELLER SELF-CONSCIOUS OF BEING 'THICK'
Former THE JAM frontman PAUL WELLER is insecure about his level of intelligence because his moments of brilliance are often fleeting. The veteran rocker insists his intellectual process comes in waves - with sharply contrasting levels of thought-making ability and very little gray area. He says, "You have times when you're burning so brightly. You're onstage and everyone is mad for it, or you're in the creative stream. "Then three months later you're desperate. That's how it goes: fantastic highs and terrible lows."
