BURT WEEDON - WEEDON ERROR COSTS BBC

Guitarist BURT WEEDON has accepted "substantial" damages from the BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION (BBC) after researchers wrongly connected him to a prison spell.

As part of a BBC RADIO 2 broadcast of a new programme, JAILHOUSE ROCK, it was wrongly revealed that Weedon, now 82, learned to play the guitar while in prison.

He says, "Not even the BBC are sure where the mistake originated."
