Oscar-winning actor and director DENZEL WASHINGTON believes that his latest directorial effort ANTWONE FISHER is for anyone who has experienced abuse.

He also is worried about the uprising of anger among young people in America.

Denzel says, "Anger is a real problem now, and there is something going on in America that's making young people explode."

The 47-year-old actor, who won the Best Actor OSCAR in 2002, refuses to believe that racism is to blame for the near-40 year gap in black winners.

He says. "People would say to me when I was doing TRAINING DAY, 'Do you feel it's because of racism that no black person has won Best Actor since SIDNEY POITIER?'

"Well, AL PACINO was nominated eight times and won once. On number seven, who did he blame?"
