OSCAR-winning actor DENZEL WASHINGTON has presented Purple Hearts to honour Texan soldiers wounded while serving in Iraq.
THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE actor was invited by the US Army to help recognise the soldiers as they recover from their injuries at San Antonio's Brooke Army Medical Center.
Washington portrayed an Army officer and Desert Storm veteran in the 1996 film COURAGE UNDER FIRE.
