Screen star DENZEL WASHINGTON knew CRASH would win Best Picture at the Oscars earlier this month (05MAR06) - despite widespread shock at its triumph. Washington insists there was no reason for anyone to be surprised by the movie's success. He says, "It had a great shot at winning. "They did an online poll and it was neck and neck with BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN and it also won the Screen Actors Guild Award."
