ELI WALLACH - WALLACH ENJOYS ARNIE'S WEIGHTS GAG

Movie veteran ELI WALLACH has been sent a pair of weights from action man-turned-California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER after joking about the paltry salary he earned for playing MR FREEZE in the 1960s BATMAN TV series.

THE GOOD, THE BAD + THE UGLY star once complained about Schwarzenegger's $20 million (GBP10.5 million) salary for the same villainous part in the BATMAN + ROBIN movie in an interview, recalling he earned just $350 (GBP184) for playing the character.

Wallach recounted in the interview that his wife ANNE JACKSON told him he should have lifted more weights, so he'd look like Schwarzenegger, and the TERMINATOR star enjoyed the joke.

Wallach says, "I received a little black box from him with two little weights inside.

"I've decided to write him a note, and say, 'I may not agree with you politically, but you have a damn good sense of humour.'"
