MARK WAHLBERG - WAHLBERG PRODUCES CHILDREN IN PRISON DOCUMENTARY

Benevolent actor MARK WAHLBERG is producing and narrating a new documentary about children in adult prisons - in an effort to prevent teenagers opting for a life of crime.

The PLANET OF THE APES hardman, 32, spent time in jail when he was a 16-year-old tearaway and credits the experience with helping him turn his life around.

And now Mark - who recently became a father to baby daughter ELLA RAE - wants to give other troubled youngsters an insight into the horrors of prison life.

He says, "My incarceration had a huge effect on me and still does, it affects everything.

"I'm not making excuses because there are kids who are extremely dangerous. But the system is not taking the time to deal with each individual case.

"For most there is a possibility of helping them before it is too late. I know, I am an example of that possibility."
