STONE TEMPLE PILOTS - VELVET REVOLVER SUPERGROUP DEBUT
LATEST: The new rock supergroup made up from ex-members of GUNS N' ROSES and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS has played its first gig.
VELVET REVOLVER played a successful set at Los Angeles' EL REY THEATRE last Thursday (19JUN03) - playing a number of covers including rocking versions of SEX PISTOLS' BODIES and Guns N' Roses classic IT'S SO EASY.
The band contains ex-Stone Temple Pilots singer SCOTT WEILAND, ex-WASTED YOUTH guitarist DAVE KUSHNER and three former members of Guns N 'Roses - guitarist SLASH, bassist DUFF MCKAGAN and drummer MATT SORUM.
Singer Scott says, "To watch the chemistry between these players, it's pretty amazing and special for me to be a part of it. It's like being connected to rock 'n' roll history."
Slash says, "Weiland is awesome. He's a great singer and the music just sounds unique. We just fit together as a band."
