VANDROSS' MUM WARNS ABOUT DIABETES

LUTHER VANDROSS' mother has recorded a series of public service announcements about the dangers of diabetes, because she's convinced the illness led to her son's 2003 stroke.

MARY VANDROSS has revealed diabetes killed Vandross' father and sister, as well as other members of his family, and now she wants to help others realise the condition can kill.

She says, "As long as he (Luther) kept his weight down and did the exercising, he did just fine. The moment he put weight back on, that's when all the trouble started."
