USHER is hoping to make big waves in the movie world, after announcing plans to make an action film with TOM CRUISE.

The YEAH! singer, who currently has a number of movie projects in the pipeline, recently met with MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE star Cruise to discuss the details of their project.

Usher says, "We're going to make an action film together. I sat down and had a meeting with Tom."

Cruise's representative has confirmed their conversation about the unnamed project, which took place when Usher accepted the actor's invite to visit the Los Angeles set of WAR OF THE WORLDS.

The spokesperson says, "Tom is a huge fan of Usher's work."
