BASIC - TRAVOLTA STILL ATTRACTS THE GIRLS

BASIC star JOHN TRAVOLTA is having a thrilling time making his new movie LADDER 49 - because he's facing frenzied attention from admiring cheerleaders.

The actor admits that, at the age of 49, he doesn't really expect to be the focus of young girls' fantasies - but his current filming stint has proved his theory completely wrong.

He says, "We're in a hotel in Baltimore and there's a cheerleading convention. There's 300 or 400 cheerleaders around the clock. We've got knocks on the door, messages, flowers, letters.

"I always get surprised when they react like this, because it's no different than it was 25 years ago. I'm not gonna question it - it's fun!"
