JOHN TRAVOLTA - TRAVOLTA LOSES HIS PREMIERE

JOHN TRAVOLTA has become the latest red-carpet victim of the conflict in Iraq - the star-studded premiere of his new movie has been axed.

BASIC was to be launched in New York tonight (25MAR03) with a star-studded publicity packed event.

But a spokesperson for GUSTAVINO, where the after show party was to be held says, "People didn't want to fly in, and right now is not really a time to celebrate."

The film is still to be released on Friday (28MAR03) simply without a premiere.

A spokesman for SONY says, "We are releasing the movie as scheduled."
