PLACIDO DOMINGO - TERFEL AND JENKINS NOMINATED FOR CLASSICAL BRITS

Scottish violinist NICOLA BENEDETTI, Welsh baritone BRYN TERFEL and composer KARL JENKINS have been nominated for two awards each at next month's (MAY06) Classical Brit Awards. All three are up in the coveted Album Of The Year category at the star-studded ceremony, which takes place at London's Royal Albert Hall on 4 May (06). American soprano RENEE FLEMING and German counter-tenor ANDREAS SCHOLL will fight Terfel for Singer Of The Year. International opera stars PLACIDO DOMINGO, DAME KIRI TE KANAWA and VITTORIO GRIGOLO will all perform on the night, where Domingo will be honoured with the lifetime achievement gong.
