LINDSAY LOHAN - TAN TROUBLE FOR LINDSAY LOHAN

Singer/actress LINDSAY LOHAN faced a race against the clock during her recent guest hosting stint on US comedy show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE - to tone down her orange tan before the programme aired live. The MEAN GIRLS star felt she looked too "pale" on camera as she prepared for her big night last month (APR06) - but a last-minute tanning session quickly turned into a bad idea. SNL producer LORNE MICHAELS hired a fake tanning expert to help give his star a bronzed look, but Lohan simply went orange. She recalls, "She took out this whole set up, and this bottle, and she has me stand there and she sprays me with fake tan. "We're about to do the show and she's like, 'It's about to get darker.' I was like, 'What do you mean? How much darker is it gonna get in the next hour-and-a-half? It's live, you know.' "So, by the end of the dress rehearsal, Lorne comes up to me and goes, 'You know, we're wondering if you could do something about the tan; you're looking a little orange.' "I was like, 'You're the one who sent her here!' I was so terrified. But then it washed off really nicely."
