SHAYNE WARD, the winner of British reality TV show THE X FACTOR, has jumped straight in at the top of the UK singles chart to claim the 2005 Christmas number one.

THAT'S MY GOAL sold 742,180 copies, which fans purchased both in stores and online, after just four days on sale.

Last week's number one, NIZLOPI's JCB SONG, moved down a place to number two.

THE POGUES classic 1987 track FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK is a new entry at number three. It was re-released to coincide with the fifth anniversary of singer KIRSTY MacCOLL's death, with proceeds going to a campaign to find the parties responsible for her passing in a powerboat accident in Mexico.

WESTLIFE FT DIANA ROSS drop two places to number four with WHEN YOU TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME, while EMINEM's WHEN I'M GONE is a new entry at number five.

However, Eminem remains at number one to top the festive UK albums chart with CURTAIN CALL - THE HITS.

JAMES BLUNT climbs two places to number two with BACK TO BEDLAM, while ROBBIE WILLIAMS' INTENSIVE CARE drops a place to number three.

Westlife are at number four with FACE TO FACE, and TAKE THAT's NEVER FORGET - THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION is at number five.
