AMY STUDT - STUDT DROPPED BY HER LABEL
Teenage singer AMY STUDT's dreams of international pop stardom have been dealt a devastating blow - she's been ditched by her record label POLYDOR.
Studt - who was touted by music mogul SIMON FULLER as the British version of AVRIL LAVIGNE - was axed last week (ends27FEB04) after failing to sell enough singles and albums.
After entering the singles chart at a disappointing 14 with her debut release in 2002, Amy has struggled to build up a strong enough fanbase. Her last tune, a cover of SHERYL CROW's ALL I WANNA DO, only reached 22.
A Polydor insider says, "It's a tough world and the fact is Amy didn't sell many records."
However, Fuller is reportedly still determined to turn her into a success, and may now launch her under his own label.
