Sting 'S NEW BURLESQUE CLUB FINDS A HOME

Caption: * BOWIE & Sting (Picture)'S NEW BURLESQUE CLUB FINDS A HOME A once-famous New York Mafia haunt is set to become the site of DAVID BOWIE and STING's new burlesque club. The odd couple has teamed up with Los Angeles club boss Ivan Kane with a view to replicating his Forty Deuce hang....

STING is set to intrigue fans on his new album by performing 16th century music on a lute. The rocker became a lute fan after his guitarist DOMINIC MILLER gave him one of the ancient instruments as a birthday gift and now he's going back in time to record a quirky new classical album. In a video release on his website, Sting admits, "It's a strange record, a delightful record and I think people will be intrigued by it. "The album is voice and lute, there are a few four part harmonies that I sing and it's all music from the 16th century." Many of the tracks Sting has recorded were penned by one of his favourite composers, JOHN DOWLAND, who wrote songs specifically for the lute. The album will be released in October (06) after Sting completes a summer (06) European tour, which begins in Lisbon, Portugal, next month (04JUN06).
