ROD STEWART is such good friends with STING he would have taken home a Grammy Award in February (05) even if he had failed to win, because the ex-POLICE star would have handed over one of his own trophies.
Before the ceremony Sting promised Stewart, who ended up winning Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for STARDUST... THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK VOLUME III, he wouldn't leave empty-handed.
Stewart tells Billboard magazine, "I've always accused Sting of having so many (Grammys).
"He's so good natured, he said, 'If Rod doesn't win one this year, I'm going to give mine to him.'"
