ROD STEWART - STEWART GIVES KATRINA FUNDRAISER THE COLD SHOULDER

Veteran rocker ROD STEWART has pulled out of a fundraising concert for the victims of Hurricane Katrina after doctors told him to rest following shoulder surgery.

The DO YA THINK I'M SEXY? vocalist was due to join SIR ELTON JOHN, SIMON AND GARFUNKEL, ELVIS COSTELLO and BETTE MIDLER at New York City's Madison Square Garden venue on Tuesday (20SEP05).

But doctors think the strain on his recovering body would be too much and Stewart, who lost a court case with a Las Vegas casino last week (ends11SEP05), will be forced to stay at home.
