POLYPHONIC SPREE - SPREE STAR THRILLED ABOUT BOWIE COLLABORATION
POLYPHONIC SPREE star TIM DELAUGHTER is being rewarded for taking his band on the road with DAVID BOWIE - the rock legend has invited the singer to work on new material with him.
Bowie was captivated by DeLaughter and his 29-member band of white-gowned musicians when they toured America together recently - even asking them to join him onstage for a version of SLIP AWAY.
But the frontman had no idea the shows would lead to a chance to actually work with his hero.
He says, "He asked me if I'd be up for it, and I said, 'Of course!' He wants to do something really theatrical, so whenever he's ready, I'm there."
DeLaughter admits he's grateful for Bowie's help from the start of his quirky choir-group's success.
He adds, "He has been really instrumental in our band breaking out in the first place. Before anyone had heard of us, he brought us to London three years ago to play his MELTDOWN FESTIVAL. That's the first place we ever played outside of Texas."
