Sexy pop star BRITNEY SPEARS is planning to make a surprise appearance on her current visit to Britain - by popping into a local pub.

The TOXIC star, who played her first gig on her ONYX HOTEL tour of Britain last night (26APR04) in London, is great pals with adopted Englishwoman MADONNA - and the superstar has told Britney she must experience the delights of a quintessential English pub whilst she's visiting.

A source reveals, "Madonna had been on to her to experience a traditional English pub while she's over here and Britney is determined to check one out.

"She's thinking she'll just stop somewhere unannounced and hope the locals are friendly."
